so this past week of school was kinda sad. monday, the teacher was assigning patients, and she asked who wanted a 26 year old, in with a cough. i claimed him first. since i figured he'd be discharged today, and the rest of my day would be easy. well, he ended up staying a few days doing labs and tests. he got a CT done, and the results came back wed., showing he had lung cancer, testicular cancer, and squamous cell carcinoma or lymphoma. so the cancer spread quickly through his lymph system. he has about a month to live. 26 years old.


on a lighter note.
yesterday i went to the lightning/thrashers game with shane. i dont particularly like the lightning, but whatever. atlanta is a good team, i think the best right now, stat-wise. the game was fun. there were 2 fights!! well, technically one real fight, the other was 'roughing'. but they were both still good. atlanta guys were beating up on tampa!!  :)
haha. the whole game atlanta was playing hard on them. their goalie is really good. a lot of good saves.

basketball season has started. i went to the first womens game friday. making the switch back to picc is difficult. new music. but its not that bad. i remember all the old music, like it was yesterday i was playing this stuff! the girls team won. 

our last home football game was saturday. we won that too. and we will be going to a bowl game. i think in alabama. that should be fun!  they were announcing all the seniors in band after our 1/2time show. i figured they were going to mispronounce paoli...well they didnt. instead they said stephen paoli.  nice.  oh well.

about a week ago, i got flowers from a secret admirer. the card was lame, saying something about how beautiful i am...  with no signature who from.  the flowers were pretty. 
they werent from shane. oh well. maybe i have a stalker.

my grapes costume won 'best girls costume' at band tonight! :D  thats cool. it was fun. the parties have been fun too!  a little wild, but fun. most memerable things- suki's party: the pudding wrestling, me linda and nicole being drunk together, the rain.  john's party: kicking ass in beer pong with chris, like we always do.

the nursing dinner last monday, was fun too. it was at the belvue builtmore belleair country club. it was insane how rich these people are. they were having a silent aution for all these fun things. like a cruise, a trip to rome, a set of golf clubs, a watch, pearls, etc. these things went for so much money! i just remember some guy bid 100,000 dollars on something. then i tuned everything out. me and laura started taking pictures. we kept pretending we were rich and artsy. i kept posing with my wine glass, and she posed with the flowers. everyone thought we were vain, and had some kind of narcissistic disorder.

me and linda are running in a marathon soon. it will be fun. we have like, one month to train. hello gym. its not so bad. we went to the gym yesterday and did 20 min on 3 things then did these leg weights and arm weights, and we went on the rowing machines! she wanted to climb the rock wall too.  but we didnt! oh well. i need to buy better shoes.

i wish i had stayed with picc. i miss it so badly. mostly bc i have these idiot sophomores telling what to do. its so annoying. sophomores are the worst year. they made it through one year of college. and know the routine... so they think they know everything. i swear if one more person talks to me like im a freshman im going to snap. plus im surrounded by boys. they are so gross. they have the most detailed vulgar conversations. seriously, im like 'im standing right here!'  they dont care. 'we're men. college men. men say dirty things'     ...let me see how far back i can roll my eyes!


aww, the other day, me and shane were driving, and there was this turtle crossing the street. so we stopped to let it cross, but it wasnt moving.  it was like the slowest turtle ever! so shane tried to scoot it along, but it wasnt going anywhere.  so he put it in the trunk and we drove to the pond and set it free!! :) yaay.
that same day i went to his hockey game and there was this little girl, sophia. she was very friendly and talkative for a 3 year old. she came over to me asking me my name and telling me hers. (several times!!!), then she sat on my lap.  yep, just plop, right there, on my lap.  it was cute for a second, but then it was very weird. why wasnt her mom like get off that strangers lap ?!!  idk. oh well.  she was cute.

soo, the first football game is this saturday. it should be interesting. to be honest im not really looking forward to it, but its coming, so bring it on, i guess. everyone should go to the game!!  :D
go bulls. i know my roomates are going, and laugh at my giant elephant instrument. linda said she wants to try it on!  lol.

so tuba is going ok.  its really freakin heavy!  im so retarded. i was so worried about learning an entire new instrument, i was so oblivious to the weight of the damn thing! lol. my shoulder has kinda lost all feeling, so it doesnt hurt that much anymore!  but it seems to be going ok. i mean, this is like the ultimate extreme instrument switch. picc to tuba!  brass is so different. my lips!... ahhh!    

anyways.
ya i got a ticket yesterday. freaking university cops.  what i dont really understand is, why did he ask for my phone #.  i was caught so off guard that i gave it to him. he put it on the ticket itself, but when i told my dad, he was mad. he said thats not procedure, and there is no reason why he needed my phone number. 
idk. this just sucks i have to pay $150. that stupid car always gets me pulled over. marygold never gave me these problems...

so, oh ya, guess who is in band this yr...matt mayberry!! shelan is too. and corys doing guard again. and thats all the H-town peeps.  matt mayberry.  it was good to catch up with him. this is going to be an interesting season. werent we just talking about him too!! ron or someone was... 
oh well.

school is going well. getting back in the swing of things. clinicals suck, but what are you going to do, right.  had a test yesterday; i got an 85. i prob. could have done better, but i was wiped out from marching with that giant hunk of metal around me!   lol.  we are taking a "feild trip" !!  haha. no permission slip though! :)  we're going to MOSI for the bodies exhibit. is it weird that im kind of excited?!?!  lol.

my dad might buy a bakery. mmmmm. he and joey are in the process of making that work out. this way my dad can kinda keep an eye on him, and out of trouble.  and joe has some sort of security in life...

sooo, the other day is saw my soulmate, the hott pepsi guy, at the mall....with his girlfriend...and kid!!  lol 

friday i went to a party at kyle smiths house; going away party for darryl. (hes moving to germany for 4 yrs!!)  and i see a huge 5-piece vacuum in the middle of their living room. (brent and kyle are not big on cleaning, let alone vacuuming!)  i gotta ask whats with the vacuum cleaner.  get this:
so brent and kyle were sitting home drinking, when a vacuum salesman comes to the door, they invite him in, mess with him a bit, give him a beer.  they all start drinking, getting a good buzz, then they start smoking some pot. so now theyre drunk and stoned!  the next day they realized they signed a contract to make payments on a $4, 000 vacuum cleaner!!! FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!! 
omg! that is so funny!!!
theres a public service announcement if i ever heard one!!   "dont drink and dont do drugs; you WILL do something you'll regret!!!"  LOL
kyle lost some weight, and trimmed his hair. he looks good. ...but he did call me a cheap date...so i might take that back!   :)

so i think my two new favorite people are the voisin brothers!  stephen and jamie are so funny. i love how they are so opposite. but at the same time, not.  they compliment each other so well!!
it was funny, jamie is talking about reformatting his computer, and all the different formats and crazy computer stuff he has to do, and meanwhile, during the explaination of all that, stephen picks up a sock, and goes "hey jamie whats this? a sock?"  but seriously, not joking around or anything!!  like he really had no idea what it was.  it was so random, and funny!!   

well my insane puppy wont stop eating everything in sight.  hes chewing everything up!!  im down to like, 3 pairs of sandles!!!  hes chewed up 2 books, pens, pencils, shoes, drumsticks, the pillow in my brothers bass drum,  dvd cases, he even chewed up the Bible!!  there is no hope for him!!  lol...doomed to an afterlife in hell!!!

well, i hope everyone enjoys the 4th of July.   = no school.  yay! (p.s. got a 95 on my test today!! :D yay me)
big shout out to nick on his bday tommorrow!  :) hope your bday is as fun as last yrs, and even better as the yr before that!!  ;-)
